Flea Market Weekend Finds

My friend's Alane and Ben came in this weekend from Dallas to have a junkapalooza weekend. Here are some of the items found:

By the way, there were several more pieces to this set, like a bar and table and chairs. Greg and Marcia Brady would have hosted some kind of party with these.

The king and queen of Junkin

Then a quick trip to City Farmhouse to see some fantastic treasures. Great weekend with wonderful friends who don't mind a little dirt and a lot of sweat.

I Don't Want To Participate In This Day

I anticipate that this day is going to suck so I would like to imagine that I am in one of these amazing rooms doing something very calming like reading, meditating, or having several cocktails. Truth be told, it will probably involve Vodka.

Junkin With Melanie

Melanie and I recently checked out some uncharted territory in the adorable town of Nolensville. We hit the lighting holy grail. Check some of these out:

This one was only $20!

These mirrors were made from old wooden hat forms...genius!
So if you are ever strolling through the hills of Nolensville, check out Three French Hens.

All Things Preppy

This post is dedicated to a dear friend of mine who passed away last night after a long battle with throat cancer. He was not only the funniest and nicest guy I have ever known, but had a style that was quintessential "country club eighties". He would show up to a formal dance with a white sport coat and madras plaid bow tie. The summer in between our sophmore and senior year of high school, he found a Hilton room key, this was back when it was an actual key with a room number on it, and threw huge parties in that room for one solid month before getting caught. He was our Ferris Buehler.
Cheers Eric...Rest in peace

Sunday At City Farmhouse

Stopped by an amazing store this afternoon called City Farmhouse in downtown Franklin. The owner Kim Leggett is so interesting and knowledgeable and has items in there that are not typical to most of the stores down there.
Find it across from the old jail.

I Am Insane For Anderson Bailey Pottery!

I came across this potter in Birmingham and again at the Tennessee Arts and Crafts Fair and I think he is amazing!

I don't usually store my sugar, flour, pasta, etc.. out on the counter, but in these magnificent containers I would!

I Am Insane For Anderson Bailey Pottery!

This amazing potter has been at the last 2 art shows that I have attended and his work is like non other. Not only are his pieces completely functional but each one is like a  work of art that could be incorporated into any space.

and this is how I incorporated a piece of his into my home:

 check him out!

I Am Insane For A Sunken Living Room

I have tried in my own home to recreate the vibe of a '70's sunken living room. I found a great curved sectional on craig's list, the round "Partridge Family" psychedelic ottoman was  picked up at the Flea Market, and the union jack pillow was purchased at T.J. Maxx. Now if I could just sink this all down into a cozy nest....

Here are some pics of the real deal:
