It's Officially Winter

Well yesterday, in my mind, was the official start of winter because at 4am there was snow falling. It has been dark, cold, and slushy here which makes me want to rip off all my bedding and replace it with fur blankets. Now I am super peri menopausal and can barely sleep with a tank top and a sheet at night, but the look of these just makes me want to snuggle with a couple of cute dogs until the next hot flash occurs.

Definition of Debauchery

Debauchery: depraved over-indulgence

This word describes my Thanksgiving. Between eating at my sister in laws on Thursday and going to the LSU game on Friday, I don't know if I need to be detoxed or rehabed. My sister in law has 4 dogs and her family found an artist in Baton Rouge that will assist you in painting animal portraits. They are amazing and I can't wait to do this next time we are in town:

This pic could not be any worse but you get the idea.

We then head to our best friends house. That usually means "let the games begin" but since  LSU was scheduled for 1:30pm the next day, we made a mature decision and drank 1 bottle of wine and just 2 Jamison's and called it a night. 9:30am and we are at the tailgate party and Brian and Randy set up an omelet/pancake station:

This was at my friend from high schools tailgate party:

That my friends is what we call a Cochon de lait.

The game was AMAZING and we are without a doubt #1

After several hours of post game tailgating, we head back to Randy and Ann's house for cooking the traditional grilled ham and cheese sandwiches with more cocktails of course.

This is Randy after he peed in his own back yard.
So this post has no design, no amazing rooms, or fantastic find...It just has 4 best college friends acting like a bunch of fools and being thankful for each other.

It's A Sign

I'm making my regular run through the GW and lookie what I find:

Now as a die hard LSU fan and since we are heading to Baton Rouge tomorrow for turkey day and game on Friday, I took this as a sign that we are going to kick some Arkansas pig butt. It also is a pretty  purple velvet chair that would look adorable in a little girl's bedroom, glam bathroom, or a decadent walk in closet.

Capture The Moment

I was getting ready to go out Friday night and looked out the window and saw this:

If I could paint, I would do it but instead I will just translate this sunset into a room

Facelift

I am not against a little plastic surgery here and there. Lord knows I could you a few hits of Botox myself to look more "rested" so when a couple of friends came to me and needed me to drive them, of course I said yes.

Friend #1

She really just needed a little something to make her look younger and not so tired.

Friend #2

She just needed some smoothing of fine lines

Both friends did really well and I hope they can return the favor one day.

I Would Be Insane For A Morrocan Wedding Blanket But I Have Tuition

With one child about to graduate college and the next one starting in the Fall of 2012, a vintage wedding blanket is not in the cards but a girl can dream. I think they are so amazing and Beau and Brees would never get on my bed again if I had one. I love the idea that these are hand sewn by the brides family members and act as a sort of talisman to ward off evil spirits and we just had a money dance at my wedding.

I Wish!

I wish this was my bedroom because I would shut that door and never leave:

I wish this was my bathroom so I would be more motivated to put on some makeup today:

I wish I had leopard carpet on my stairs so I wouldn't see the dog hair and want to shave my dogs:

I wish I had this kitchen because I bet I would be a much better cook:

I wish I had this dining room because I would host so many dinner parties:

I wish this was my office because I would be surrounded by my books that inspire me and a view that is breathtaking:

The Big Olive O

Today I was in multiple GW's and came across not one but two vintage olive green sofa's.

Sofa #1
$35.00

another view

Sofa #2
$39.00

It was a pretty stellar day if you happened to be in the market for vintage sofa's. I think #1 in velvet is pretty sexy and that color is banana's. Olive green is definitely not just for army fatigues:

A Dream Come True

Yesterday the vintage panels were installed in the doorway of my husband's office and they are pretty sexy:

The guy put them on a sliding track system and they glide so smooth. I love the mix of contemporary, bohemian and Asian  in my home...it certainly isn't Rooms To Go. Everyone's home ought to be a reflection of their personality and when you walk into mine, I think you clearly know who you are dealing with.

Here are some spaces that I feel have personality plus:
