It has been an emotional and busy time in Chez Crochet. Emily graduated on Saturday morning so my husband's family started arriving at 2:30 pm and the last members pulled up around 10:00pm...the party is on! Food had been prepared but Brian and I were not ready for the emotional roller coaster. In no way am I or my husband ready to see our baby leave for college. But here it is...a big dose of reality:
It's so fricking blurry because I was sobbing uncontrollably.
After the ceremony it was back to the house for food and many cocktails. The next day you would all be proud...my sister in law Stacy and I headed to the flea market...it was only 95 degrees.
I walked away with nothing except a glass of lemonade, a sunburn, and body odor but we did spot these treasures:
First thing we saw! |
It's brass and large...say no more |
gravel art New Orleans style |
yellow and orange bamboo stools |
And this post would not be complete without a non flattering pic of the Ya Ya. She was apparently overcome with emotion.
My daughter just graduated from high school too! I can't even get my head around the fact that she is old enough to move out - even if it is just to go to college. Congratulations, Mom! I know how hard WE worked to get them here :)
ReplyDeleteHow can I follow you if I am not on Blogger??
ReplyDeleteWatching my awesome niece graduate was wonderful as was being with our family. Melissa and Brian are the best hosts ever -- they worked their buns off feeding and housing us for the weekend. Thank you so much. I love you both!
ReplyDeleteAw, such a bittersweet time. I dread it, and I will be blubbering for days when my time comes. So impressed you got to the flea! I just couldn't seem to get there with our schedule. HOT weekend so glad you didn't pass out!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Emily! Wish I could have been there. You will survive. You have me :)
